Help Avery County Rebuild and Recover

Update(6/18/25): just wanted to thank everyone for the continued prayers, love and donations. My family still has a long recovery of getting everything restored. We still have LOTS of debri to be removed we are just in the sitting and waiting game. Still have no water due to other people being ugly and not allowing us to access our water and fix our problem so we are in the praying game for something to happen with that. But we already know Gods got this and he’s still writing our story! Thanks again. Update!! :: Thank you all SO much for helping our community and my family with recovering from Helene. We are now able to get to our house and start working on building it back. We have had some wonderful people come into our lives and help us with grading. Matthan and I are so blessed with Gods people showing up and out to help. Whether you donated a $1 or $1000 please know the money is going toward helping us build our house back, getting gravel (which is gonna cost us over $5k, and giving back to the community when the lord needs us to help provide. Hello all, my name is Alisha Hicks. I have had a lot of people reach out to assist my home town with expenses. After hurricane Helene we have SO many that’s lost homes, their lives, and still SO many missing. The news is reporting outside where I am so not a lot is seeing how bad it is. I am in the lower area of Avery county NC on the Avery Mitchell line. Every penny donated will be put back into the community for food, water, clothes, and basic needs. Our community begs for prayers more than anything. We have so many people that’s come from all over the country to help and we are so thankful.
