Help Avery Attend Prestigious NYLF Medicine Forum
Donation protected
Our son, Avery, has been honored with an invitation from Alan Byrd, the Dean of Admissions at George Mason University, to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Medicine & Health Care, a week-long experiential learning program by Envision by WorldStrides in the summer of 2025 (NYLFmed.com). This recognition highlights Avery's status as a high-achieving high school student, and attending NYLF presents a remarkable opportunity for his personal development and the possibility of earning college credits.
Currently, Avery is finishing his sophomore year in the Virginia Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars Program, which equips students with essential critical thinking and communication skills. He also signed up to volunteer as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with our local volunteer fire and rescue, reflecting his keen interest in fields of anesthesiology and infectious diseases. However, this prestigious program comes with a significant cost of $4,445, in addition to meals and domestic airfare, which averages around $398 as of April 15, 2025 from the U.S. Dept of Transportation.
As small business owners, my husband and I find the cost of the week-long tuition to be quite high. To help make this invaluable experience a reality for Avery, we are reaching out to our community for support. Avery is looking to attend the program held at Yale University or University of California, Berkeley in early July. We truly appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you!
