In Memory of Jennifer Waller, Help Avarie Achieve Her Dreams

This GoFundMe has been started by Mary Hendershot's family in memory of Jennifer Waller, who took her last breath on August 8, 2025, after a brief and bravely fought battle with cancer. Jennifer was an endearing friend and teacher to so many people across the world. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those whose lives she impacted.

As many are aware, Jennifer has been the legal custodian of her granddaughter Avarie Waller over the past 10 years. At 16 years of age, Avarie's future without Jennifer's care is uncertain. However, one thing is certain: Avarie has a dream of attending college, and Jennifer's friends are committed to making that dream a reality. An education-related savings account has been established by Mary Hendershot at Peoples Bank of East Tennessee under the name "Avarie Waller Education Fund", and any donations made to this GoFundMe will be directly deposited into it.

Avarie is currently a junior at Sweetwater High School and is a gifted artist. Over the past couple of years, she has represented the Boys & Girls Club of the Ocoee Region’s Sweetwater Unit at special events in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Chicago. Despite Avarie's great loss of her beloved Grand Jen, her future remains bright. Let's help Avarie get off to a great start in pursuit of her higher educational goals.
