Avalyn is a 4 year old little girl who has struggled so much in the last two and a half years. She got diagnosed in 2018 with a rare genetic disorder called STXBP1, epilepsy, and autism. From the time she was born she was so happy and healthy. She hit every milestone, was saying roughly 20 words by a year old, and was just an overall typical child. When she was 18 months old she started to regress. And now at the age of 4 she is completely nonverbal and continues to regress. It is absolutely heartbreaking to witness. She struggles with every day life and emotions. She is very anxious, upset, and confused most days. The last 6 months have been very hard for our family and it has led me to do more research than I ever have before. 

I’m trying to raise $6,500 for Avalyn to try Hyperbaric chamber therapy. Like most things affiliated with special needs children, insurance will not cover this treatment. And being a stay at home mom has lead me to do this go fund me. We will drive to Daphne, Alabama Monday-Friday where she will sit in a chamber for 60 minutes. Each session is $155 and she will need a minimum of 40 sessions. If she continues to show improvements we will continue to go for another 40 sessions. There has been research that doing this has helped with sensory issues, behavioral issues, and some have reported that it has even helped their seizures, and so much more. It leaves the child with a sense of calmness and not so trapped inside of their on head. We are prepared this treatment may not help her 100%, it may only help a little, but we are hopeful it will help her in so many ways and at this point we are willing to try anything to help her. She deserves it. 

As mothers we only want what’s best for our children, and that’s all I’m trying to do for my sweet Avalyn.
