Help Avalanche Fight FIP and Save His Eye

Tax deductible
In July 2024, baby Avalanche arrived at the rescue. A tiny little bundle of fluff, sickly but determined to live. We struggled in the beginning with respiratory infections and gaining weight.

At 8 months old and still weighing under 2 lbs, his eye started looking unusual, and he began losing weight, had severe diarrhea, and he began refusing to eat. (Tiny as Avalanche is, he was always the first to the food bowl. I can't even open a drink can without him running to his bowl!)

He was diagnosed with Ocular FIP. FIP is an extremely dangerous disease for cats, but it is curable.

Currently, we have started treatment, and he is doing amazing. He's even gained weight up to 3 lbs 5 oz at this moment, and currently, he's been on the treatment for only 12 days.

There is serious concern about his eye. We need to have additional testing done to see exactly how bad it is and if other medications are needed.

Not going to lie, these treatments are horribly expensive. But you don't spend 8 months fighting to help a baby survive to give up when you are seeing marked improvement.

Initial vetting $311. Medication to date $216, and that will last about 2 more weeks. The treatment is at least 84 days. And that doesn't include the additional testing we need on the eye. We really do want to save this little warrior's eyes if we can.

Can you please help our little warrior, Avalanche?
