Help Ava to have a safe, medically adapted home

I’m Sam, Ava’s mum, and I’m looking to try and fundraise to help Ava and our family to be able to move into suitable medically adapted housing that’s appropriate for her high level medical needs, and to get our family the right support so we can enjoy life!

 

I was devastated at 29 weeks pregnant when I was told that Ava had suffered brain damage during pregnancy.

Ava has a life limiting disability, Cerebral Palsy and severe Epilepsy. Ava is gastro tube fed and her movement is limited. Ava needs round the clock care now and as she grows up.

 

Although Ava has physically limited movement and is unable to talk,  she has a good understanding of the world around her and she has a beaming smile. Her laugh is infectious.

 

Ava needs overnight care, and in order to implement this Ava medically requires her own bedroom. She currently shares with her twin sister, Olivia. Ava needs appropriate space for carers, bathroom and bedroom facilities on the ground floor with space for specialist seating and medical items she needs close to her at all times.

 

I would love to be able to raise as much as possible so that Ava can have the bedroom and bathroom facilities that she needs, so that she can have the care where she lives comfortably and the support to thrive and giggle through life with every opportunity she is capable of grasping with support from others. Suitable housing would also give her twin sister her own room so she can play without medical equipment around her, give her own space to grow and be able to be comfortable in her own home whilst being so happy that her sister is being properly cared for and that she gets quality time with her mum.

 

Raising money for a downstairs extension would mean that Ava can be comfortable and that she can have medical care throughout the night that would avoid hospital visits and ensure we all get a good nights sleep. This means we can go out and enjoy our days together as a family , and Ava can thrive as an excited , happy little girl right next to her sister that I know she can be.

We have continuing care ready to support Ava, we have approached so many public services but adaptations are very expensive… this is our last opportunity! 

 

This would be life changing not only for Ava, but our whole family and the way we live every day. If you would like to help support us we would be so grateful for Ava to have her own adapted bedroom for her to rest and play comfortably.
