Help Ava Recover from a Dog Attack
I’m reaching out to the community with a heavy heart to ask for help. Our beloved dog Ava was attacked by a large breed dog and as a result, she sustained severe shock and injuries.
Ava has multiple skull fractures, traumatic brain injury, bruised lung, eye ulcers, and a broken upper and lower jaw. We have been working closely with the veterinarians at the UC Davis animal hospital to get her the best possible care, but it’s been a challenging journey. We were not sure if she would survive the first 24 hours. The immediate emergency care was just the beginning, and now we are looking at ongoing tests, CT scans, blood tests, and surgeries.
Ava is scheduled Thursday, 12/4/2025, for surgery for her upper and lower jaw as well as a body scan, which will help determine if there are other internal injuries we need to address. The cost of the veterinary care, tests, and surgeries is overwhelming, and we are doing everything we can to provide Ava with the treatment needed to recover. Ava was admitted into the hospital on 11/30/2025, and we hope to bring her home by 12/7/2025.
The funds we are raising will go towards:
- Emergency vet bills and overnights spent at the hospital
- Diagnostic tests such as CT scans and MRIs to ensure there are no hidden injuries
- Jaw surgery to repair the injuries and restore her ability to eat and function properly
- Follow-up care, medications, and any future treatments required
Her best friend and sister Maci misses her dearly and is so sad without her around.
We know that the road to recovery will be long, but we are hopeful that with the right medical care, Ava will heal and be able to live a healthy, happy life again.
Any amount you can donate will make an incredible difference in helping us cover these unexpected costs and give Ava the care that she deserves.
We are deeply grateful for your support and for taking the time to read our story. Ava is not just a pet but a member of our family, and we are doing everything we can to help her recovery so she can have the best quality of life possible after the attack.
Thank you so much for your generosity and for keeping Ava in your thoughts and prayers.
With gratitude,
Our family and Ava
