My name is Ava, and this year, I have been given the incredible honor of being selected to march with the Madison Scouts, one of the most legendary corps in Drum Corps International. Founded in 1938, the Scouts are known worldwide for their powerful performances, rich history, and tradition of excellence. To be chosen to wear their uniform is more than an achievement..it’s a lifelong dream realized, and a privilege earned by only a select few.

Music, music education, and the marching arts are my world. They are where my passion lives and where my dreams have always pointed. Being part of drum corps isn’t just performing, it's becoming part of a family, a legacy, and a community built on discipline, artistry, resilience, and heart. But as many in the activity know, drum corps comes with significant expenses. This summer, I will travel across the United States, rehearsing, performing, and touring with the Madison Scouts. The costs associated with tuition, travel, housing, equipment, food, and transportation quickly add up!
