Support Ava Grace’s Medical Expenses

On Sunday, October 2nd, Ava was in a terrible accident. She was in the care of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at UC Health. The Neurosurgical team immediately removed part of her skull to alleviate the swelling in her brain. Her body sustained multiple other injuries, including a fractured pelvis, ribs and clavicle. Ava fought hard, but on October 10th, she had multiple major strokes that destroyed parts of her brain. She lost her fight, but is at peace now. Because Ava was simply too special to allow her incredible life to end here and since we were inspired by the tremendous community support, we would like to share that Ava is not finished having a huge impact on other people's lives. She will be giving the greatest gift anyone can ever give, the gift of life. Her organ donations will have the potential to save many other people. We know Ava would agree with this decision, and with these gifts she will save lives and continue to inspire others.

We cannot thank all of you enough for the outpouring of support we received during the most challenging time of our lives. All of the stories, pictures, prayers, donations, signs, wearing pink, or lighting your homes in pink have helped us get to this point. Ava will stay in the hospital for a few more days while the LifeCenter team coordinates the wonderful gifts of life that Ava will give to others. I know we've been asking for a lot of prayers, but we will need some more for all the families that receive Ava Grace's gifts.

We also ask that all of you continue to pray for our family, Ava's friends and teachers, and the incredible first responders, doctors, nurses, and other UC Health Staff that helped Ava (and us) make it through this week. You have all helped us more than words can express.

For those of you who do not know Ava personally, she was a junior at Campbell County High School. She was part of the Campbell County competitive cheer squad. Ava is an amazing daughter, sister, cousin, and friend, as evident from the outpouring of support from the community on the ALL 4 AVA GRACE Facebook group. We are raising funds to help pay her medical bills

The family is insured but has a high deductible and, like most of us, doesn't have the means to pay for this emergency. All funds will go to pay the medical bills.
