Help Ava finally be them self!

Hi! I'm Ava, sometimes affectionately known as Avo.

Over the last month I've finally been able to achieve something I've been putting off for a long time and get an official diagnosis of gender dysphoria (woohoo!). This is the first step required to go on to have gender affirming surgery.

Although I like to think that I've almost always lived authentically as myself there has always been a really physical discomfort I have had with my gendered body. This has greatly intensified recently and I now struggle to look at myself with just a t-shirt on or in passing reflections which is obviously really uncomfortable and even affects my posture due to this lack of comfort with myself.

For this reason I hope to undergo 'top' surgery early next year to help feel so much more at home in my body and reconnect with myself and my authentic identity. It's a big scary surgery but it's something I've wanted for upwards of 5 years and pushing myself to finally take these steps has been really big and really affirming in how I want to live already.

Because I've chosen to go down a private care path for my surgery all funds from this fundraiser will be going directly towards the surgery itself and any aftercare. Luckily I have a supportive workplace who will allow me time to heal and I've been able to cover the consultation costs personally.

This fundraiser target is a really best case scenario target and please know I'll be absolutely thrilled with any help at all. I've been so in awe of the beautiful community I've seen come out in support of friends and I'm grateful already to be surrounded by such love and care.
