My name is Jacob, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my girlfriend, Autumn. I love her deeply, and over the last three years I have watched her bravely battle complex PTSD, severe anxiety, ADHD, depression, and chronic health challenges that limit her ability to function day to day. I’ve done everything I can to support her, but right now she needs more help than I can provide alone.
Autumn has survived more trauma in her 31 years than most people face in a lifetime. She endured childhood sexual abuse, neglect, and a trial at just 12 years old where her abuser was found not guilty. In 2021, she lost her father suddenly and traumatically, and in 2024, her beloved uncle passed after a long fight with cancer. These losses shook her, but she has continued to fight for her healing.
This past August/September, Autumn was hospitalized for her mental health and shortly after survived a suicide attempt. Since then, she has had to withdraw from her college courses to focus solely on recovery. She is awaiting an intake with a psychiatrist on September 30th and an assessment for late diagnosed Autism. She has been referred to a Partial Hospitalization Program starting October 3rd, which will be 5 days a week, 9–3, for at least 4 weeks. This intensive program is necessary but makes working nearly impossible.
Despite these hardships, Autumn is one of the kindest, brightest, and most empathetic people I know. She is funny, authentic, intuitive, and such an important person in my life. She has always been the person who helps others feel seen and less alone, and she dreams of becoming a counselor to help others heal from trauma. She was even inspired to pursue this path after finding hope through Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy—an effective but expensive treatment not covered by insurance, which she had to charge to credit cards. She now carries debt from these treatments.
Autumn does not qualify for unemployment or disability benefits, so she is left without a safety net.
Her monthly expenses include:
Rent: $400
Car payment: $370
Car insurance: $117
Orthodontic treatment: $320
Cell phone: $40
She is currently carrying $10,488 in debt, much of it from Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, as well as basic necessities, bills, car maintenance, and other personal expenses while she was a student between 2023–2024.
I am asking for help on her behalf because she struggles deeply with shame and fear of being a burden. But she is not a burden. Autumn is deserving of support and a fresh start. The systems meant to protect people like her have failed too many times, but together, we can lift her up and give her the chance to heal without the crushing weight of financial stress.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering her essential living costs and paying down her debt so she can focus fully on her recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Autumn heal.
Sincerely,
Jacob
