A couple months ago, my 5-month-old puppy Debo and I were attacked by my neighbor’s pitbulls. Thankfully, neither of us were seriously hurt the first time, so I tried to move on, thinking it was just something that happens between dogs. But a few weeks later, it happened again. The pitbulls got out of an unsecured fence, saw us walking, and attacked us. Debo was grabbed by the throat and his neck was literally ripped open. He needed emergency surgery and had more than 40 sutures in his neck. I was bitten several times, but not badly.

Just a few days ago, we were attacked yet again. Debo now has several bad wounds on his shoulder and needs veterinary attention immediately. I was bitten on the leg, less than two inches from my femoral artery, and now have stitches and a deep gash on the front of my leg, plus stitches on a puncture wound on the back. My hand and two fingers are broken and I need surgery for this. I contacted the police and they took a report, and I reached out to the dog warden but haven’t heard back. I was interviewed by the news, trying to get help for us.

Today, I came home to a 3-day eviction notice on my door. I am trying to raise money for Debo’s vet care, my medical bills and surgery, legal representation to file a civil suit against my neighbor, and to find a new place to live. It would mean everything to us to receive help. I have not done anything wrong and do not deserve to lose my home over this. Thank you for reading and for any support. God bless.
