Help Autumn & Bren keep it together

Donation protected
22 full days in the hospital now. This leaves Bren at home with the kids and them both unable to work at this time. If you can help at all, it would be greatly appreciated!

Last update below:

During the course of this hospitalization, they placed the port for IV nutrients. The procedure was successful. The next day, I was started on TPN (the nutrients) and had an upper and lower scope done. The scope showed my stomach wall muscles are atrophied (dead) and inflamed. I then threw two superficial blood clots in each arm. My muscles began to waste, and walking has become much harder. I'm skin and bone.

There was a 4-day period where I was just getting nutrients, but as I was receiving them, I went through re-feeding syndrome because I did not have enough nutrients in my body; it made me sicker. I adjusted, and last night (was supposed to be my last night here) I had repeated allergic responses which they likely attributed to the TPN compound being cross-contaminated by one of my 238 random allergies.

There have been at least two sure-fire bouts of struggle where I was placed in a critical situation. (It’s bad when your doctor can’t look you in the eyes and tell you that you’re in bad shape. Even worse when you can see it in their faces.)

This has been an incredibly painful, traumatic, and scary time. And as of last night, they uno reversed me and I don’t have a discharge date anymore.

I want to thank everyone who’s come by or who reached out. I’ve been declining visitors due to needing rest, but love and care from all of you mean the absolute world to me. (I'm now mentally exhausted and would love some familiar faces.) This is not what I expected, and I’m glad I went to the ER when I did.

The nurses on the IMC floor at Southshore have my utmost gratitude for advocating for me when it was hard to advocate for myself. They provided me with information for me to be able to make an informed decision. They’ve held me as I’ve cried. I got some pretty outstanding nurses keeping me sane. They’ve been working with my family and trying to make sure I’m comfortable at the very least. There are at least 5-6 ladies on this floor I owe it all to.

I would also like to thank Brenden for picking up my mom duties, bringing the babies to see me, and bringing me pretty much whatever I’ve asked for. I’m going a little wacky in here, but I’ve got a few good reasons to find joy.

I miss my cozy house, my big fat-headed stinky dogs, and my cats. I am not out of the woods yet, but thank you to everyone who has been standing ten toes down for me when I’ve been struggling to do so myself.
