My name is Autumn. A couple months ago I got caught in a storm while walking my puppy Debo. As we were running to our front door my neighbor's 4 pitbulls converged on us out of nowhere. I managed to jerk Debo up into my arms by his collar and thankfully my neighbor appeared and managed to get his dogs away from us. I was nipped a couple times but I figured we weren't really hurt so no big deal. A few weeks later once again I'm walking Debo and my neighbor has his dogs in a small fenced in area with a fence that's two and a half feet high and the fencing is meant for gardening not fencing animals. Two of his dogs attacked us. I was bit several times but not badly but Debo had his throat literally ripped open. It just missed his jugular vein. I took him to the vet where he had to have emergency surgery to the tune of over $1,000.
Yesterday I went out to check my mail and I took Debo with me.
Once again my neighbor has his dogs in that little fence that is not meant fence animals. They immediately barreled right through it and chased us down and attacked us. Debo has several bite wounds on his shoulder that needs to be looked at by a vet ASAP. I was bitten several times my hand is broken and I have to have surgery on it this week. The dog also clamped onto my leg and started to shake his head with my leg in his mouth. Which I had to have several stitches to close the wound. the police were called, and I'm not sure what has happened. I have called animal control and the dog warden and the sheriff's department but nobody is giving me any answers. This man was outside with the dog that attacked us this morning. Ohio just recently passed Avery's law, which states that a dangerous dog that has attacked someone and cause serious injury or death should be immediately seized and euthanized. The owner of the dog is liable and could face a felony charge. But I don't believe that this has happened yet. My neighbor knows that this dog is dangerous. Yet he continues to have him fenced in in an unsecured area with no collar on, no tether, and unsupervised.I really need help getting Debo to the vet. I am disabled and on a fixed income. I currently have no health insurance. And I'm still paying off the $1,000 from a few weeks ago with this last attack. I know that this man, my neighbor, is liable for my injuries and debos injuries but he won't answer the door when I knock on it. Debo is hurt and needs to see a vet ASAP. He does not deserve this. Much less deserve this again. He is a great little guy, very friendly and sweet, my very best friend. I rescued him and he is turning out to be such a great dog. We did not provoke this attack. I was told that this dog has attacked nine other dogs and has killed three of them. He is also attacked at least three other people other than my husband and I. I need help with mine and Debo's medical bills. I also would like to find an attorney to represent me in a civil suit for medical costs, pain and suffering and trauma. Thank you for reading this. Any help is greatly appreciated
