My name is Bridget Augustus, and I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in saving my husband and the father of our son and four daughters.

Austine Augustus is not just a wonderful husband and father, but also a dedicated teacher and accomplished author.He has been a rock for our family and me for 24 years, standing by me through my own battles with sickle-cell disease.

Despite the challenges, we have built a happy life together and raised five amazing children, all while actively participating in our local ministry. Unfortunately, in 2018, Austine was diagnosed with kidney disease and for a few years, he was put on a special diet to manage it, but in 2021, he became ill again and was diagnosed with End Stage 5 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease). From that point onward, his health began to rapidly decline; a kidney transplant was urgently recommended, and the need to commence dialysis on a twice-weekly basis.

The cost of this was very high, and due to his ill-health, he could not work , and with five young children to feed and educate, we grappled with the challenge of raising funds.

We set up a Gofundme account in 2021 to raise money for dialysis and transplant. Despite our efforts to fundraise, the money raised so far has only been able to cover a portion of the cost of the dialysis. However, it is not enough to afford the kidney transplant he desperately needs to survive.

Since 2021, on an average, we spend $400 weekly for his dialysis and drugs. The dialysis is draining, and takes its toll on Austine, leaving the once lively, boisterious father and leader, weaker with each passing day. The sad news is that despite undergoing 108 dialysis treatments so far, these treatments are no longer effective and a kidney transplant is now desperately needed to save his life.

We require a total of $40,000 for the kidney transplant, hospital bills and post-surgery care. The cost is overwhelming and we cannot do it alone. That's why we are turning once again to you, our friends, family, and compassionate supporters, to help us raise the funds needed to give Austine a second chance at life.
