Help Austin Seize Each Day Again!
Donation protected
We are starting this GoFundMe campaign to help our son, brother, cousin, and nephew Austin Pivac with his medical bills. Austin is 25 years old and was involved in a terrible car accident on 12/17/18. We are blessed that he survived it, but he did sustain multiple injuries.
He lost a portion of his kidney, some damage to his liver and multiple lacerations throughout his body. The most severe injury was to his legs. He sustained a compound fraction of the lower left leg including destruction of the ankle and tendons. His calf muscle and ankle will have to be rebuilt. He has already had several surgeries in preparation for a big reconstruction surgery. His left and right knees both have ligament damage. He will have more surgeries to repair both knees, but that will be down the road.
He has also sustained a very bad concussion. He knows who we are, but has a foggy memory of different life events and gets things confused. He is sensitive to noise and too many people talking at once.
Austin had to stay several days in the ICU, and then in an observation room. He has remarkable trauma teams working hard on his recovery. We are being told he will need to spend several months in a rehab facility to basically learn how to walk again. For his total recovery the doctors are saying it will be 9 months to a year. As you can image, the medical expenses are and will continue to be astronomical.
We are a very close family and are all helping as much as we can but the bills will be more than we can handle. Before the accident Austin was a very active young man, he loves playing soccer, snowboarding, fishing, and volleyball. As a family we are hoping and praying he will be able to get back to that active young man. We want to help Austin reduce the financial burden so he can focus all of his energy on recovering.
Words can not explain how grateful and appreciative our family is for your consideration to contribute to Austin’s GoFundMe campaign.
Thank you!
