** UPDATE **
After reviewing the evidence in the criminal case against my son’s father, the State of New Hampshire is recommending that I relocate my son and I for our continued safety. Breaking my lease and moving expenses were not originally part of the plan or expected. As of right now, I have been forced to assume ALL of the family and marital expenses on my own. Neither I or my son are receiving any kind of support - financial or otherwise - from my son’s father or that entire side of the family.
I never imagined my little boy and I would be put in the situation that led me to flee our home. I never imagined coming to the internet for financial help, but here we are. Every single thing I’m doing is for the protection of my sweet baby boy, Austin.
This is our story.
On the night of March 26, 2025, our lives were completely turned upside down. My worst fears came true when my husband’s temper turned physical. I finally opened up to close friends about what has been going on at home. Many of my friends and family sadly expected this news. On April 1st, I got the courage to file a report about what happened. While sitting in a police interview room, I received upwards of 40 phone calls and countless threatening, vulgar text messages. Several police officers expressed concern for my safety. The decision was made to move forward with a protective order and to get my son and I out.
Ultimately, a number of law enforcement and other protection agencies are pursuing investigation and charges related directly to acts of abuse.
Since then, I have been processing and coping with the extraordinary amounts of psychological, financial, and now physical abuse I have endured. I received emergency, sole custody of our son pending the above legal and agency activities. Due to the sudden nature of these events and becoming a single mom overnight, I have had to take emergency leave from work. So I am now in a situation where I don’t have money coming in, I have no savings due to the financial control, and I don’t have a vehicle registered in my name to transport my son. I am applying for assistance that we may qualify for as victims of violent crime in New Hampshire, but we have immediate needs that we need help with.
I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to read our story. Unfortunately, this is Austin‘s story as much as it is mine. I know we will come out of this stronger, happier, and most importantly safer.
If you are concerned about a loved one who may be in an abusive relationship, please say something. It could save their life.
