Help Austin Get a New Wheelchair Accessible Van!

Hello everyone,

My name is Chelsea, and I'm reaching out to you for help on behalf of my amazing son, Austin Coco. Austin is a bright, spirited 14-year-old who has lived with Cerebral Palsy from birth. Despite the challenges he faces, he lights up our lives every day with his passion for wrestling, YouTube, truck drivers, marching bands, and airplanes.

Austin is non-verbal and uses a NuPoint Head Tracking device to communicate with us. He is wheelchair-bound and requires a g-tube for feeding. Yet, his determination and zest for life are truly inspiring.

Austin attends Lewisburg Middle School in Olive Branch, MS, where he's an 8th-grade student. His favorite moments are those spent watching his favorite wrestling matches, exploring YouTube videos, and experiencing the sights and sounds of marching bands and airplanes.

Our family – Austin, his sisters Claire and Violet, and I – are in urgent need of a new wheelchair accessible van. The vehicle we currently use cannot be converted for Austin's future needs. As Austin grows bigger and heavier, it has become increasingly difficult for me to lift him from his wheelchair into a car seat. He is outgrowing the car seat, and I am struggling to continue lifting him.

We need a van equipped with a wheelchair ramp and a lock to secure his wheelchair inside. This will not only make our travels safer and more comfortable for Austin but will also ease the physical strain on me. A new van will allow Austin to travel more freely and experience the world with greater ease and joy.
