Help Austin Briggs Pay For Spinal Surgery

Donation protected
Hello everyone! I’m fundraising for Austin Briggs to help him afford spinal surgery. Austin has degenerative arthritis in his back and hips plus two ruptured discs in his back. Austin and his family of four are in need of financial assistance due to unexpected unemployment during this process. Him and his wife have a baby of three months and another child of eight years they are working hard to support. Any help would mean the world to this family! Please help support them in their time of need.

‼️UPDATE‼️

Hello! This is Shannon Briggs, wife of Austin Briggs. We have two beautiful children. Miles is 1 year and 2 months, and Jaxon who is 9 years old. I work as a Family Service Advocate for Head Start. Austin has been an over road truck driver for the past six years. I will try to keep this update as short and sweet as possible..

Austin began struggling with a great deal of back pain over a year ago. Being our majority provider - he pushed through. This continued until he began having issues with his legs going numb & he began falling. We went to the doctor where they let us know has several ruptured discs and Some herniated discs as well. The pain specialists located the ones they thought were causing the pain and spells of legs going numb. They first tried injections. When those didn’t work, they did a surgery to clean out things in between discs.

After recovering from the surgery- it became obvious that it did not help the pain. He did physical therapy as well, which also did not work and made the pain more intense.

After returning, the pain specialist let us know he was full of arthritis (worst in his back and hips). He stated that “he’s never seen this much arthritis in someone this young.”

The next step was more injections…but unfortunately that did not work. They decided they are going to burn the nerves in his back that feel the pain. They stated this was the last resort because it can be dangerous to have your back completed numb. However it is the step that we agreed to take. This will require several tests prior to the burn. His first appointment for this will be October 19th.

Austin has been off work for over a year. His pain keeps him confined to his recliner - only leaving the house for doctors appointments. He has tried leaving for special occasions but ends up leaving after an hour because of intense pain. He is so mentally and physically drained after being stuck in a chair for almost a year. He sleeps, eats, and lives in the dang thing.

We have appreciated all of the love and support over the past year. We are asking for more positive thoughts & prayers. ❤️
