Help Austin and Family Fight Epithelioid Sarcoma
Donation protected
My brother Austin has been battling a sickness for over a year, he has endured countless doctor's appointments, biopsies, tests, scans, and surgeries. In July, Austin was diagnosed with Epithelioid Sarcoma. Sarcoma is a rare cancer, but having Epithelioid Sarcoma is even more rare.
Unfortunately, his illness has prevented him from working, and his wife Becca has limited availability to work. They have four children and are struggling to keep up with medical deductibles, transportation costs to and from appointments, and living expenses. We are asking for your assistance to alleviate some of the financial burden they are facing. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
Austin’s treatment plan is being directed by the Sarcoma team at the University of Michigan.
Austin and his wife Becca met with his oncology team on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. His pain management was updated and has been seeming to help him. At this time, Austin has completed his whole brain radiation treatment, but as one can imagine, is still suffering from the side effects. Austin also has 4 weeks of his chemo under his belt and seems to be tolerating it as well as the doctors would hope. Austin has been experiencing a lot of bad days but is still doing everything possible to stay positive and show up for his family.
The mental battle is just as important as the physical battle for this disease. In 8 weeks, they will travel back to U of M Ann Arbor for scans and testing. It will be at this appointment we will know if the treatment is working.
We need this to WORK! We need this treatment to work for Austin, for Becca, for Spencer, Preston, Addalyn, and Sophie, for our parents, and my family. For all the people who know and love him.
