Auspicious Brew is turning FIVE — and we’re ready to expand! Will you help us?
It all began as a small kitchen project when I, Helen Leavitt, started making kombucha for family and friends. Over the years, the demand grew, and after more than four years of research, development, and fundraising, Auspicious Brew opened its doors in downtown Dover in November 2020.
As New Hampshire’s first kombucha brewery, our mission has always been to provide botanical beverages in an inclusive, welcoming space. And as a women- and trans-owned business, we regularly host uplifting and progressive community events like Queeraoke, drag shows, live music, trivia, and dance parties, creating a vibrant gathering place for all.
Now, we’re ready to take the next step. Our goal is to expand by acquiring the space directly above us in the Washington St. Mills, which will allow us to increase production with a larger walk-in, bigger glycol jacketed tanks, and our own canning line. This will more than double our current brewing capacity and help us expand our wholesale partnerships throughout and beyond New Hampshire.
On the retail side, we plan to add a lot more seating, not only increasing capacity on the first floor but also creating a new lounge space on the second floor, so that guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere even on busy nights. An open view from the second floor down to the stage will tie it all together. Plus, we'll have our own bathrooms! This expansion will allow us to host larger events, bigger touring bands, private gatherings, fitness classes, community markets, and more, further strengthening our ties to Dover.
This growth means more jobs for our team, more collaborative opportunities for our community, and an enhanced customer experience for all who enter.
We’ve seen steady growth over the last five years, and it’s been an honor to brew great products and steward a thriving community. However, without the space to match demand, it’s hard to make ends meet. The cost of this expansion is our biggest challenge to date, and time is of the essence! We expect to have a more detailed budget finalized by the end of October, and we'll keep you posted at every step of the way.
Your help now will ensure that Auspicious Brew continues to serve as a hub for handcrafted, locally sourced food and beverages, and unique, welcoming events. We can’t do this without you.
We are deeply grateful for everyone who has supported us so far, and we can’t wait to continue growing with you — yes, YOU!
