Help Aurora Heal

I’m asking for help for mine and my sisters sweet little Pomeranian, Aurora. ❤️

Aurora is only 8 years old and is incredibly tiny (6 lbs). On Saturday evening, she suffered a traumatic injury… her femur broken in two places.

The fractures were so severe that repairing her leg would require specialized surgery.

After consulting with the surgeon and discussing Aurora’s size, the complexity of the surgery, and the risks associated with recovery, my sister and I were faced with the most heartbreaking decision: Aurora needed to have her leg amputated.

The hardest part of all of this is knowing that Aurora is the one who is suffering. Seeing her go through the pain and recovery has been incredibly difficult for both of us.

On top of the emotional and mental toll, there is also the guilt that comes with having to make such a life-changing decision for Aurora especially when she doesn’t understand why this is happening to her.

I also had pet insurance for Aurora. When I went to submit her claim, I discovered that Aurora and two of our other pets had been removed from the policy, while one pet was renewed. My husband and I never canceled the policy, so I am extremely confused and currently trying to figure out what happened.

This unexpected injury has created an enormous financial burden on top of an already overwhelming situation. We would be incredibly grateful for any help, no matter the amount. Every donation will go toward Aurora’s medical care and recovery. So far they are around $5,000.
