Hello, let me introduce my beautiful daughter, Aurora Briar Rose Long. She is the light of our lives. Aurora is a beautiful 4-year-old little girl full of life and spunk. She loves Cocomelon, princesses, and all of her stuffed animals.
Aurora was born with a genetic mutation called Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC2). Aurora has so many tumors in her brain that you can't even count them all, with three that are on the larger side. Due to this condition, Aurora developed Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), which is a rare form of epilepsy that is medication-resistant. Both of these conditions have caused Aurora to have multiple seizures a day, and medication is unable to control the seizures.
Due to the seizure activity, Aurora is autistic and non-verbal. Aurora slowly lost her ability to control her balance and is also unable to walk. Even though Aurora has gone through so much, she has remained a loving, sweet little princess with a smile as bright as the dawn. We truly believe our daughter is a warrior in her own right.
The reason we are asking for help is to purchase a handicap-accessible vehicle for Aurora. Our little girl is growing up, and it's becoming very difficult and dangerous to lift Aurora in and out of our vehicle. Aurora is growing and becoming heavier, and we have had occasions when we are moving her from her car seat to her wheelchair. Aurora has had seizures during the transfer process, and it becomes very unsafe for her as it becomes a fall risk or leaves her at risk for a head injury as we are unable to control her body during this time.
So I'm asking anyone who can and will, if you could donate or help us with this cost, we would be forever grateful. We cannot find any programs or grants to help us with this life-changing cost. Anything is greatly appreciated. This would be a huge blessing to Aurora. She would be able to get out and go more places and experience life safely. It would also improve her quality of life because transfers are as hard on Aurora as they are for us with all of the lifting that we do on a daily basis. This would be life-changing for our family as a whole.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support and understanding. Please, if you are unable to donate, share in hopes this reaches anyone who would like to help. Thank you all.
