Help Aurora Beat Brain Cancer

Hello, my name is Laura Klimek and I am Aurora Romano's aunt. I am fundraising to help support Aurora's fight against childhood cancer and to assist the Romano family during this time. We are so grateful to the amazing network of family, friends, and community that have supported us so far.

Aurora is an amazing, energetic, spunky three year old whose favorite things are Lightning McQueen, Trolls, french fries, ice cream, and bouncing on her trampoline. On March 14, Aurora was brought to the ER with symptoms of nystagmus. The team at Children's worked quickly to determine the root cause, performing CTs, MRIs, and eye exams. She was diagnosed the next day with three Optic Pathway Gliomas which is a type of brain tumor that forms along the optic nerve pathway. Aurora had a port placed the next day and began her first round of chemo treatment on March 17. The current treatment plan for her is twenty-four rounds of chemo treatment within the next year.

She was released to go home after her first chemo round and is currently still filled with the same ferocious spirit, playing hard with a smile on her face. She has an incredibly long road ahead and we are asking for any donations to assist with this journey. Your donations will support Aurora's medical expenses, time her parents have to take off work, travel and food costs while receiving chemo, specialty items needed for her care such as port pillows and shirts, and any other unplanned expenses that may occur. If any donations are not used, the Romano's will donate the remaining balance directly to Children's Hospital to assist other children in their fight.

Aurora is truly the light of so many lives and deserves any support you can give, whether it be donations, prayers, positive vibes, or ice cream. We will be needing lots and lots of ice cream.
