I’m writing on behalf of my mother-in-law, Aurelia Espinoza. Back in November, she started having abdominal pain while on a trip to Mexico with her son for the first time in 29 years. We got back, and her pain continued. Her daughter took her to the gynecologist; he did a biopsy, and everything came back negative. The pain never went away, and her belly started growing rapidly. Her daughter took her again to the gynecologist; he said her fibroid was growing. They did another biopsy, and it came back negative. My mother-in-law couldn’t take the pain anymore, so her daughter took her to the emergency room at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. She was there for a few days; they did biopsies, CT scans, etc. They told us she “might” have cancer, but they weren’t sure. They ended up discharging her. As days went by, her belly kept growing, and the pain was still there. So her daughter then took her to the ER in Marysville, where they sent her home and told her to go to UC Davis. She was taken to UC Davis; they did a biopsy there, and they told her she has a mass in her uterus, but basically, they sent her home without doing anything else, and they never called to let us know about the results. She then had liquid taken out from her belly, and the doctor said to take her to Sutter Health Medical Center in Sacramento, where she is currently at. They did tests on her, CT scans, and a biopsy on her lymph node. We then told the doctor there that she’d had a biopsy done at UC Davis but never got the results, so they quickly called them to get the results, and that’s when we got the bad news. My mother-in-law has stage 4 cancer, which started in her uterus and has spread to her lymph nodes and her lungs. We still haven’t gotten the conclusive results on what type of cancer she has. Doctors spoke to us about chemotherapy, the advantages, and disadvantages. Doctors gave her a few months to live without chemo, and with chemo, they said it would add at least 2 more months of life. My father-in-law is on disability, and my sister-in-law hasn’t been working because she’s with her mom all day, every day, in the hospital. This GoFundMe is to help ease the financial burden they are going to be faced with in the next few months while they are there caring for Aurelia. Le escribo en nombre de mi suegra, Aurelia Espinoza. En noviembre, comenzó a tener dolor abdominal durante un viaje a México con su hijo por primera vez en 29 años. Regresamos y su dolor continuó. Su hija la llevó al ginecólogo; Le hicieron una biopsia y todo salió negativo. El dolor nunca desapareció y su vientre empezó a crecer rápidamente. Entonces su hija la llevó a la sala de emergencias en Marysville, donde la enviaron a casa y le dijeron que fuera a UC Davis. La llevaron a UC Davis; Allí le hicieron una biopsia y le dijeron que tenía una masa en el útero, pero básicamente la mandaron a casa sin hacer nada más y nunca llamaron para informarnos de los resultados. Luego le sacaron líquido del abdomen y el médico dijo que la llevaran al Centro Médico Sutter Health en Sacramento, donde se encuentra actualmente. Le hicieron pruebas, tomografías computarizadas y una biopsia de su ganglio linfático. Luego le dijimos al médico que le habían hecho una biopsia en UC Davis pero nunca obtuvo los resultados, por lo que rápidamente los llamaron para obtener los resultados, y fue entonces cuando recibimos las malas noticias. Mi suegra tiene cáncer en etapa 4, que comenzó en su útero y se extendió a sus ganglios linfáticos y pulmones. Todavía no hemos obtenido resultados concluyentes sobre qué tipo de cáncer tiene. Los médicos nos hablaron sobre la quimioterapia, sus ventajas y desventajas. Los médicos le dieron unos meses de vida sin quimioterapia y, con la quimioterapia, dijeron que añadiría al menos 2 meses más de vida. Mi suegro tiene una discapacidad y mi cuñada no ha estado trabajando porque está con su mamá todo el día, todos los días, en el hospital.
