Help Auntie Chris Walk Again
*Help My Auntie Chris Walk Again*
On Monday April 19th, 2021, my Auntie Chris was doing what she does best; being the ‘FUN’ Aunt.
What she thought was going to be just another fun filled day of spending time with her nieces and nephews ended up in tragedy, leaving my Aunt facing the possibility of never being able to walk again.
Chris (Christine) as many know her as, was riding her bicycle along the bike path in Huntington with family. Only feet away from being done with their ride for the evening, a dog that was off leash ran in front of her causing her to lose control and crash her bicycle. When she hit the ground with such force, she fractured her tibia which severed vital tendons and ligaments. She was rushed to the hospital via ambulance and spent 3 days at Los Alamitos hospital.
It took a week to find a qualified surgeon to operate on her that her insurance would approveof. Although the surgery was a success, my aunt had pins and screws placed in her tibia permanently. Thankfully she does have insurance, however insurance will NOT cover 100% of the additional costs it is going to take for rehab and physical therapy.
This is going to be a very long and difficult road for my Auntie to battle and I am making this GoFund me in hopes of helping relieve some of the medical expenses that she has accumulated during this whole ordeal and will continue to accrue during her recovery. Any little bit would help and would be greatly appreciated.
