Help Aung as He Battles Cancer

Donation protected
On what was one of the most exciting days of his life – finding out that he was going to be a father for the first time, our dear friend, Aung, received the devastating news that he had  stage 4 lung cancer.  This diagnosis was a complete shock given his healthy lifestyle, young age, and lack of any noticeable symptoms outside of a cough.

Over the last year, Aung has endured numerous treatments, while continuing to work full time to provide for his growing family. In this midst of this very difficult time, he and his wife, Kathy (Kat), were blessed when she gave birth to their beautiful baby boy, affectionately known as Panda.  Now,  after attempting many treatment options, Aung is now at home on Hospice with his wife and newborn by his side.  It is our hope that Aung will be able to see his son's first birthday and do so in his home.

Just 43 years old, Aung is a devoted father to Panda and a loving husband to Kat, a true superwoman who continues to work while caring for Aung and their infant. Aung is also a son, a brother, an uncle, and a cherished friend to many.  To me, he has been one of my best friends for almost 30 years.  He was there for me when we were teenagers and my own father was dying. He was one of the main reasons I was able to get through the loss of my dad who was the same age Aung is now-43.  Please help me to return the gift Aung gave me during my darkest days by helping us to raise enough money to alleviate some financial stress for Aung and his family and give them some peace and comfort during the coming months.

Even with insurance and despite working until last month, when he simply could no longer physically do it, the bills have piled up and the family needs our help. Without funding from this campaign, they will likely have to move out of their home, which would be traumatic for Aung given his fragile health and extremely difficult for Kat and Panda.  Your contribution will help to pay for the medical expenses insurance won’t pay for and the bills that Kat’s income can’t cover. Our campaign goal is estimated based on medical and household expenses for the next six (6) months.

Please give what you can today and, if possible, what you can next month.  Any amount helps. Aung is a humble man who has made the people and the world around him better.  When I think of Aung, I think of his great big smile and the joy that emanates from him.  Let’s help him keep smiling- safely and peacefully in his home with his beautiful family.

Thank you for contributing and for sharing.  Please reach out to your networks, houses of worship, anyone who you think can help.  All funds will be deposited directly into Aung’s account. Aung is already overwhelmed (his words) by the outpouring of love and support he has received.  He will be deeply grateful for anything you can contribute.  Please keep Aung, Kat, and Panda in your thoughts and help us help him - We love him.
