My name is August, and I am a queer transman who lives with my transgender partner, Phoenix. This past November, Phoenix fell ill and was diagnosed with psychosis, which required us to both quit our jobs. For him, it was because he was mentally unfit to work, and I ended up needing to be a full-time caregiver for him as he began his journey to healing.
These past months have been financially rough, with no income. We relied on the caring hearts of others and state benefits to help us avoid being homeless and without food. Unfortunately, it has come to our realization that with both of us still without work, and Phoenix's mental and physical well-being still needing time to heal, we need to move in with my parents for support.
The goal of this move would be to have both financial and familial support while we focus on health and being financially stable enough to move back out on our own. This move is sudden and vital for my partner and me. Because we quite literally have nothing in regard to money, we are reaching out to our community to help us facilitate the cost it will take to move from Minnesota to Tennessee, where my parents live. Any help is greatly appreciated. We are excited and forever grateful to my family for offering this opportunity, and we extend that gratitude to others who can support us in any way, even if it is just to share the GoFundMe with others.
With love, August and Phoenix.
