These past few years have been rough medical years for Audrina as she's become increasingly more complex.
We are at the point where a wheelchair van has now become a necessity for safe transport instead of a convenience.
Audrina was admitted to the ICU on 04/23/25 for respiratory failure with two active viral infections. As of today 5/22/25, she is still expected to be here a few more weeks before she can be discharged. Audrina had her tracheostomy surgery on 5/14/25.
Our current SUV barely had room for her previous equipment so with the new additional equipment we won't have room for everything & her wheelchair. Physical therapy is recommending a change to an electric chair so we are awaiting that outpatient consultation appointment. With a heavy electric wheelchair we would absolutely need a converted wheelchair with ramps.
Until now we had chosen to try to take care of everything ourselves that was not covered by insurance. But this is too big of an expense to take on so we have finally decided to humbly ask for help.
