On September 27, 2025, mine and my husband Nathan's lives were changed forever when our daughter, Audrie Mae Beavers, was born. After a beautiful and healthy pregnancy and a smooth delivery, we were overjoyed to finally meet our baby girl, weighing in at 6 pounds and 9 beautiful ounces and a tiny, but mighty 18.5 inches long. We were beyond in love and completely over the moon that the baby girl we had hoped and prayed for over the last almost two years had finally made it Earth-side safely. Unfortunately, just a few minutes after she arrived, Audrie stopped breathing due to meconium aspiration syndrome and had to be rushed to the NICU. For those that don't know what that means, basically, she had a bowel movement in the womb and swallowed it. Due to it being sticky and black tar-like, some of it got stuck in her throat, so instead of swallowing it all the way, when she let out that first beautiful cry, she inhaled what was left in her mouth and throat. Unfortunately, it flooded her poor, fragile little lungs and stuck to every inch. The hospital where she is receiving care is two hours away from our home, making this already difficult time even more challenging for our family.
We are doing everything we can to be by Audrie's side, but the costs are quickly adding up. Because we don't qualify for the free housing offered to some families, we are facing travel expenses, hotel stays, meals, and other essential needs while we support our daughter in the NICU. Every day apart from her is heartbreaking, and the stress of these unexpected expenses has made this traumatic time even harder.
Your love and support for our sweet Audrie means the absolute world to us, whether you're able to donate or not. Any prayers, well wishes, positive thoughts, or even a simple share of Audrie's story means more to us than we could ever put into words. Thank you for helping us stay strong for Audrie and for being part of our journey.
