On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica as a Category 5 storm with winds up to 185 mph. The storm tore through homes, flooded communities, and left much of the island without power. In the western region, where Montego Bay is located, entire neighborhoods have been devastated. Many families are still without electricity or reliable communication, and the full extent of the damage is only beginning to emerge.

I’m from Montego Bay, and my heart breaks to see the place I call home in such distress. So many families I know personally are struggling, including my aunt, Audrey, whose home was completely destroyed by the storm. She lost her roof, furniture, appliances, and most of her belongings.

Although Audrey was able to shelter safely with my cousin during the storm, she now has no home to return to. The structure that remains is unsafe and must be demolished before she can rebuild.

I’m raising funds to help Audrey secure a safe temporary place to live and begin the long process of rebuilding her life.

• Replacement of essential furniture and appliances (unfurnished apartments/flats often do not come with major appliances)

• Architectural renderings, land surveyors, and professional services

• Purchase of building materials as they become available
