Help Audrey, Maya, and Sara get out of Israel!

My name is Traci Andrighetti, and I live in Texas. I'm setting up a GoFundMe for my dear friend Audrey Holmes to help her and her daughters get out of Israel. The following message was written by Audrey:

Dear friends–It's hard to ask for help but here I am. My family and I need financial assistance to get out of Israel. I need to be ready for any situation that arises, and all is so uncertain.

The US Embassy in Israel is closed and has been since the war started. There has been no communication from them regarding our situation and what to do about it—two expired US passports for my girls, ages 16 and 18.

We can fly out on Israeli passports to another country, but I don’t know where to go. It’s very scary, especially with 2 children who have been traumatized by the events that have happened here. Many of their friends were taken hostage or killed, and they have seen much of it on social media.

The Consulate has been inundated with requests for updating passports and cannot issue emergency documents right now.

**As of this morning the US has us on a crisis list and has stated that they will attempt to get us out. But more than likely we won’t be arriving in the US and will be taken to a safe country to go through the process there, which could take a long time. Once we are there, we are on our own for all living expenses and flights to the states. I will attach the formal letter I received below.

I work online as an English teacher, and so far I am still working. But I teach for Israeli school children and private professional clients here in Israel. I don’t know how long this will hold out as reliable income.

The situation in Israel is still unpredictable; mortar and rocket fire may take place without warning. Please continue to follow the instructions of security and emergency response officials.

Commercial flights are available but limited. If you wish to leave Israel, we encourage you to take advantage of those options now. U.S. carriers have temporarily suspended flights to Israel, if you choose to depart, you will need to fly to an intermediate location and book onward travel from there to the United States.

We understand there is high demand from U.S. citizens wishing to depart and the flight options are reduced. In the coming days we hope to assist U.S. citizens with transportation options to depart Israel. Due to the large numbers of U.S. citizens indicating interest in departure assistance, we will plan to offer transit over several days. If you choose to take this departure assistance, transportation may be by air or sea and will be to a nearby safe location and not to the United States. Travelers should be prepared to arrange their own lodging at the safe location and pay for their own onward travel from the third country to their chosen destination. Departure assistance is provided via a loan from the U.S. government which requires travelers to sign a promissory note (an agreement to repay) prior to departure.
