Hi, my name is Sarah Gutierrez. I'm asking for help for my daughter, Audra. She has been struggling with a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in her lung) since January 2021. The blood clot never dissolved even though she was on blood thinners. She now has multiple clots in both lungs which are causing a life threatening condition called CTEPH (chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension). Because of the high pressure in her pulmonary arteries her heart is failing.

She spent 2 weeks in the ICU at the heart hospital where they started her on an IV medicine that she now needs 24 hours a day, as well as blood thinning injections twice a day, and oxygen 24 hours a day.

There is a surgery that can potentially remove the blood clots and scar tissue called PTE (pulmonary thromboendartectomy) but its very specialized and we will have to travel to San Diego, California if she becomes a candidate.

At this time, Audra is unable to work and facing a very long recovery. I'm asking for any donations that can help her cover household bills, mortgage, utilities, medical expenses, and travel accommodations to California if she is approved for surgery.
