Help audio engineer hurt in head on collision

Donation protected
Hi all,

This is Nadia Choucair, and I am writing this to inform you that my life partner, Tyler Spratt, was in a pretty bad head-on collision in Decatur, GA on Sunday night October 3rd. An SUV swerved two lanes over and hit him head-on.

He is currently in the ICU recovering and, luckily, is a fighter. His injuries are pretty serious, though, and he has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

He has suffered a TBI, 6 broken ribs, 1 dislocated rib, a collapsed lung, fractured vertebrae, dislocated knee cap, a gash in his bicep down to the tendons, a gash in his leg down to the bone, cracked teeth, as well as a togue injury from bite down during impact.

He is honestly very lucky to be alive from all of this.

Tyler will be unable to work for some time. While his line of work is not physically demanding, due to the traumatic brain injury, he will need to avoid too many stimuli for his brain to heal most optimally.

He will need to spend the next few months resting, limiting exposure to bright lights and loud noise, and avoiding or limiting head and neck movements. Mixing music does involve blasting it nice and loud through his system at certain points in the mix phase.

We are seeking funds to help with his copay as he has very basic health insurance, and we will likely be facing thousands in expenses after this. We are also needing help as well with our mortgage and bills while he can't work and needs someone to help with the bathroom, food, and comfort, which is what my focus will be during this time.

In addition, we will need to set up the house with different accommodations for his condition so he can continue healing once home.

We have been living month to month and minute by minute over the last two years, and while fully concussed and fighting for his life, he screamed and cried out to me, "how are we going to survive this?! We are going to lose our house!"

This go fund me is especially to help with peace of mind so he can focus on what matters and get back to living life.

Tyler, myself, and our families truly appreciate all of the messages of love and appreciate your extending concern for him and the situation. The one beautiful thing to come out of tragedy is clarity on community, and we sure are lucky to be loved by you all.

Thank you for helping to make this dark time less scary and lonely.

Tyler sends his love and looks forward to getting back to making great music radio ready and to celebrating a full recovery with you as soon as possible. He is defying the odds already. Thankful for all of you and our guardian angels.

Best regards, Nadia
