Our Mission

We are Sudan Humanitarian Foundation, Inc., a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to providing critical humanitarian aid to Sudan and Sudanese refugees. Our mission is to alleviate suffering, combat hunger, and restore dignity for those impacted by the ongoing war, famine, and displacement crisis.

The Crisis in Sudan

Catastrophic Famine:

• Sudan is facing a famine that threatens to kill 5% of its population.

• Approximately 2.5 million people — including 230,000 children, pregnant women, and new mothers — are at risk of dying from hunger.

• In desperation, some have resorted to eating mud and dirt to survive.

Ongoing War:

• Since April 2023, Sudan has been engulfed in a brutal conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

• The RSF have committed crimes against humanity, including genocide, mass rape, and torture.

• The war is fueled by outside actors, exacerbating violence and displacement due to Sudan’s rich natural resources.

Extreme Displacement:

• Sudan now faces the most severe displacement crisis in the world, with over 11 million people forced from their homes.

• Our team has already helped feed over 1,500 refugee families daily in multiple cities, but far more is needed.

Our Connection and Commitment

Our founder, Amel H. Mohdali, was born in Khartoum, Sudan, and now resides in Washington, DC. This personal connection drives our commitment to ensuring that aid reaches those most in need, whether they are displaced within Sudan or living as refugees abroad.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All funds raised will only benefit Sudan Humanitarian Foundation, Inc. and will be allocated toward:

• Food Supplies: Staple goods like rice, flour, lentils, oil, sugar, milk powder, and fresh produce.

• Medical Supplies: Bandages, disinfectants, gloves, basic medications, and other essential health resources.

• Kitchen Equipment: Tools and materials for community aid kitchens serving thousands daily.

• Transportation & Logistics: Ensuring aid reaches families in Khartoum, Omdurman, Port Sudan, and other areas in need.

• Advocacy & Awareness: Mobilizing global support for Sudan through outreach and education.
