Help Aubrie & Toby After Losing Their Home to Helene
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Cameron! Two days ago, my sister Aubrie, her partner Toby, and their two cats, Pudding and Flapjack, were impacted by Hurricane Helene in Hendersonville, NC.
On Friday, Sept. 27th, with no evacuation warning, flood water began rising outside Aubrie and Toby's apartment. With less than an hour to assess the situation, they tried to move what they could to the second floor but had to prioritize themselves and their cats' safety. Waist deep in water, they fled and watched as their apartment was submerged in over 6 feet of flood water :( Fortunately, they are safe, but everything is gone.
In the next couple of weeks, Aubrie and Toby will be figuring out which of their belongings are salvageable. From what they have been able to see, it is at LEAST a couple thousand dollars and several irreplaceable items worth of loss.
Along with this, they will also need to be looking for a new place to live.
From this tremendous loss, Aubrie and Toby will need to…
- Replace lost appliances
- Replace lost furniture and clothing
- Pay for up front costs associated with getting new housing (security deposit, application fees, first month rent, etc.)
Also, due to the devastation to the area, they will more than likely be out of work and without pay for at least a couple weeks.
If you’d like to send financial support directly to Aubrie and Toby, you can Venmo them @aubrie-borovina
Please help me spread the word and help get them back on their feet!
As a Brevard native, I am absolutely devastated to see the loss and suffering happening in my community. It pains me seeing my little sister and her partner going through the loss of their home and most of their belongings. I would love to do whatever I can to rally some financial support for them and ease some of their burden.
Thank you so much!
