Help Aubrey with injuries from Eldo rescue
Donation protected
As many of you are aware, Aubrey Runyon selflessly assisted with the August 26th climber rescue in Eldorado Canyon. She courageously saved the life of the surviving climber and helped facilitate a quicker response from the Search and Rescue personnel. She is truly a hero, an angel that was in the right place at the right time. She is a great friend and mentor to so many of us, myself included. So I felt this was the right thing to do, as her friends...we need to help.
She recently shared with me that as a result of those rescue efforts, she sustained some very serious injuries. Not only did she break her foot, but when she was lifting the surviving climber up to safety on a ledge, she also ruptured her abdominal wall and tore two ab muscles completely in half. She has been suffering with the pain from this injury for a few months now, and finally got a scan to find out what was wrong. Aubrey needs surgery to repair her abdominal wall and muscles.
Aubrey is the sole provider for her family. This surgery and recovery is going to take a long time. Missing work/lost wages, medical expenses (copays/deductibles/out-of-pocket), hospital stay, recovery time, etc. is going to take a toll on her and her family. We can help make this easier on Aubrey and her family by assisting her with those costs. Aubrey has brought smiles to all of our faces with her pure joy, silly jokes, random singing outbursts and sheer climbing stoke so many times...She would never ask anyone for help, so that is why I am setting up this GoFundMe for her. Love you all.
