If you know me, then you know how much I love my family and that one of my best friends in the world is my sister, Aubrey.
Aubrey has faced challenge after challenge over the past year and a half and has continued to put one foot in front of the other, even when it would have been understandable to give up. Unfortunately, she and the girls have been hit with several more hardships in recent weeks, and they could truly use a helping hand. It is not easy for my sister to ask for help, but right now she and the girls are facing more than any family should have to carry alone.
Over the past year and a half, she has worked through a difficult divorce and has been doing everything she can to rebuild a stable life for herself and her girls. Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any harder, life delivered one challenge after another.
A few weeks ago, her vehicle was totaled in an accident. While she waits for the at-fault driver's insurance to resolve the claim, she has been forced to purchase another vehicle so she can continue getting to work and caring for her family. Even after the insurance settlement, she will still be left with a monthly car payment she wasn't expecting.
Then this past week, severe storms moved through Oxford and caused devastating damage to her home. A large tree crashed onto the house, causing significant structural damage. The roof continues to sag under the weight of the tree, and they have been instructed not to enter the home until insurance adjusters can assess the damage next week. At this point, they are unable to safely retrieve many of their belongings.
The emotional and financial toll of these events, on top of everything she has already endured, has exhausted every emergency fund she had. Right now, the immediate needs are simple but important: meals, clothing, household necessities, transportation expenses, boarding their pets, and the countless unexpected costs that come with being displaced from your home.
If you know my sister, you know she is strong, hardworking, and fiercely devoted to her daughters. She has never expected anyone else to carry her burdens. But sometimes even the strongest people need a hand getting through a difficult season.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help provide stability and peace of mind during these next few weeks and months as she works to rebuild. If you are unable to give, sharing this fundraiser and keeping her family in your thoughts and prayers would mean just as much.
Thank you for helping remind this family that they do not have to walk through this alone.
