Hi everyone! I'm Dawnette....I’m setting this up for my friend Aubrey, someone I’ve known since she and I were young and have seen grow into one of the kindest, softest hearted people you’ll ever meet.

A few weeks ago, the home she had just moved into was destroyed in a sudden and devastating fire. Her car was also severely damaged. The fire department listed the cause as undetermined, and because she had only just moved in, she hadn’t had the chance to start renter’s insurance yet.

If you know Aubrey, you know she’s a caregiver by nature. She’s spent years working with animals as a vet tech and rescue attendant, and now she pours that same compassion into her work as an esthetician. She adores her son, loves her animals, and is the type of person who lights up talking about old-school music, LOTR marathons, Ren Faire weekends, or the perfect skincare routine. She’s gentle, artistic, a little nostalgic, and endlessly kind.

She had been building a home for herself and her son...their fresh start. In the fire, she lost almost everything: clothing, furniture, her son’s belongings, important documents, everyday essentials, and sentimental items that can never be replaced. She is now starting completely over.

The Red Cross was able to give her $600 to get through the immediate shock, but as you can imagine, it doesn’t even begin to cover rebuilding a household from the ground up. She’s doing everything she can to stay afloat, take care of her son, work, and find safe, stable housing again.

This fundraiser will help her replace and rebuild what was lost, including:

• Basic furniture: beds, mattresses, dressers, a sofa, tables, chairs

• Household essentials: bedding, towels, cookware, dishes, cleaning supplies

• Her son’s needs: clothing, school items, toys, storage, bedroom basics

• Everyday necessities: clothing, shoes, toiletries, skincare tools for work

• Important documents and items damaged or lost in the fire

• Deposits, fees, and moving costs for her next safe place to live

• A small cushion to keep her and her son stable while she starts over

Any amount helps, and simply sharing this makes a difference.
