Help Aubrey Overcome Endometriosis Pain
Donation protected
Update: Aubrey has finally got a surgery scheduled for September 15th! She is eager to get it over with and grateful for all the support you’ve all offered.
Dear all who are reading,
We are reaching out to ask for help in raising money for Aubrey's endometriosis surgery. Aubrey is my younger sister who has experienced life debilitating pain and symptoms related to endometriosis the past several years. After dozens of tests, doctor appointments, homeopathic solutions and more, she is still at a loss for anything to relieve the severe pain she battles through on a daily basis. On top of endometriosis, she battles autoimmune and thyroid disfunction issues along with scoliosis. Her health conditions have impacted many areas of her life, including her ability to work a consistent job.
Not only has Aubrey struggled to afford the cost of daily living, but the surgery offered to remove the endometriosis tissue, and relieve many of her symptoms, is thousands of dollars that is not covered by insurance. The surgery offered is by a specialist with high success rates of removing all the tissue successfully and preserving fertility functions. She's always dreamed of becoming a mother, and this surgery is her best chance at that! Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects roughly 10% of reproductive age women and girls globally. There is no known cure at the moment, and many of the treatments suggested have done little to support Aubrey's recovery. Endometriosis causes an increased risk to thyroid disease, so we are hopeful some of her other symptoms and struggles may be relieved through the removal of the endometriosis tissue.
Endometriosis also runs in our family. Both our aunt and mother suffered greatly throughout their lives due to symptoms and got diagnosed so late, that it caused permanent damage. Aubrey is only 22, and we are hopeful this surgery will offer her a chance at enjoying her youth, pursuing a career and hobbies, travel start a family, and dream of a pain free (or at least manageable!) life. All things that have been, and remain, incredibly difficult. Aubrey has a passionate love of animals and a dream to pursue a career in this field. She has worked as a vet technician assistant on and off over the years, alongside grooming and boarding jobs, with a desire to work full time at a clinic in her hometown if she can improve her health enough to withstand the hours.
As her older sister, it pains me to see her suffer so greatly. However, I am consistently inspired by her resiliency and ability to persevere. It is disheartening that anyone may suffer from such great pain, so consistently, that they become adapted and used to it. Not many people know the extent to my sister's pain, but her friends and family know how drastically it has shifted her life the past few years.
We are asking for any support you are able to offer, while acknowledging this is a trying time for all. Even a small donation, a reshare, or message of support will go a long way.
If you've read this far, we thank you immensely for your attention and care. Thank you in advance for your love and support! It is greatly appreciated, and we are optimistic about the chance to make a difference in her future!
