Help Aubrey March with Spartans This Summer

Donation protected
My name is Aubrey Pushman, and I’ve LOVED color guard since I was a little kid. I now have 11 seasons under my belt, from spinning both indoors and outdoors at Holland Middle School, to Council Rock High School South, to now the University of New Haven! My love for this activity has only grown though the years, which is why it means a lot for me to march DCI this summer with Spartans!

I decided to march DCI for the first time this summer, and auditioned and got contracted with Spartans, and I could not be more thankful. I only have this summer and next summer to march before my age-out, and I want to make the most of it. I love performing with my entire heart, and I cannot imagine the person I'd be without this activity. I believe that DCI is the next step in my color guard journey, and I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity Spartans has given me. However, this journey comes with a huge out of pocket cost of $6,000 worth of tuition.

As only a first-year college student, adding that onto expensive college tuition and winter guard fees, and personal circumstances that do not allow me to get a part-time job nor have a car, it puts me in a financially troubling spot.

I am now asking for your support and kindness to help me raise money so that I can march this summer, and bring me to the next stage of my color guard career with Spartans!

What is DCI?
DCI stands for “Drum Corps International,” and it contains dozens of Independent competitive marching bands that travel and compete with each other all over the country during the summer season. Think of a band or artist touring the country on a tour bus, and that is practically what these bands do.

“Move-Ins” are usually in June, then members are away from home traveling and rehearsing non-stop until early August. It doesn’t sound fun at first glance, but it is extremely rewarding in the end physically, socially, and mentally.

All money raised would go towards covering my $6,000 tuition, which includes things like transportation, housing, and food provided during the tour. While I do not realistically expect to hit this donation goal, any money raised will regardless help lift this financial burden.

Monthly Fundraisers
I will be posting themed monthly fundraisers on both Instagram (@aubrey.pushman) and Facebook (Aubrey Pushman) with different themes and to overall make fundraising for my tuition a little more fun! This GoFundMe is where you would send the money for those fundraisers regardless if you are participating in the themed ones or not.

ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is appreciated no matter how big or small donations are. I dream of performing with a large group like Spartans for crowds full of band nerds like me, so I hope you will help me make this DCI dream of mine come true <3

Note: I will be adjusting the fundraising goal on here if I get donations outside of GoFundMe. Example: If I raise $300 from January's Sock Sale, then the goal here would go from $6,000 to $5,700
