My name is Aubrey, and I have been accepted to Harvard's 7-week residential secondary school Program. The tuition for this incredible opportunity is more than my family can afford, so it's simply out of the question for my family to help me financially. Despite these challenges, I've always believed in giving back. I founded the Baking Club at Point Arena High School and raised enough funds to take members on a winter trip last year. As the Youth Poet Laureate of Mendocino County, I help young minds find themselves through art and poetry, and will continue to do so throughout my '26-'28 term. I also volunteer with the Redwood Coast Human Society and stay active in cheerleading. Over the years, I've worked hard to build a strong resume for college, but now the only obstacle standing between me and this life-changing program is funding. Attending Harvard's program would open doors to advanced courses in medical and biological sciences, as well as philosophy—subjects that are not available at my local college. My dream is to become a forensic pathologist, helping communities find closure with lost loved ones. I've already taken dual enrollment courses at Mendocino College, but this program would allow me to experience Harvard's rigorous coursework and take a big step toward my goal. It would also set me apart as I apply to Ivy League schools for pre-graduate studies this fall. I'm reaching out to my community for support to help me overcome this financial obstacle and take the next step toward my dream. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me and help me make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Thank you for believing in me and helping me pursue my passion for helping others.
