Help Atticus with Living Expenses During Disability Claim

Donation protected
Good day.
I’m asking for your assistance to help support a good friend.
Atticus, age 24, lives on the north side of Chicago in the Rogers Park neighborhood. I met Atticus several years ago as a WAG dog walker, and was impressed by his dog handling skills, along with a professional, conscientious approach to the job. Over time, I got to know Atticus better, developed a friendship and saw his personal potential.
Atticus is a creative and highly empathic individual with a host of mental health and medical issues that make it challenging to hold down a “regular” job. Atticus’ long-time therapist and primary care doctor believe that he fits the legal definition of “disabled.”
With my support, Atticus is working with a local disability attorney. Applying for federal disability assistance is a complex administrative process, and the lawyer is encouraging Atticus to not have any employment during an application process that may take a year or longer.
Because Atticus can’t work and, unfortunately, has limited family financial resources to depend on, he’s having a difficult time finding ways to pay monthly rent, utilities and other living expenses. I’ve helped support Atticus financially for the past year but don’t have the personal resources to do so indefinitely. Thus, Atticus is in a financial bind right now, and that’s why I’m asking for your help.
Atticus isn’t a person who feels comfortable asking for assistance; however, he’s given me permission to advocate on his behalf. We would graciously welcome your support at this time, be it a one-time donation or a recurring monthly gift. As Atticus’ benefactor, I supervise this GoFundMe account, and Atticus has pledged to use all donated funds in a responsible manner. The plan is for Atticus to post regular updates online on the status of his disability application.
In advance, thanks for your concern and generosity. Atticus and I are grateful for both.
