Hi my name is Pete, I’m Jodie’s husband. I’m helping Jodie raise money to complete service dog training for Atlas. Jodie is a wife and mom to two boys. For over 20 years, Jodie has dealt with complications from POTS, disautonia and Brady tachycardia syndrome. These conditions cause her to pass out with little if any warning. She’s been to several specialists but due to severe intolerance to many medications, a positive solution can’t be found. Health insurance is no help. They feel all service animals are not medically necessary. However, continuing to be poked, prodded and tested like a lab animal is perfectly okay. Quality of life has been severely impacted. A medical alert / recovery service dog will help Jodie immensely. By alerting, Jodie could sit before passing out. Compression could help her wake. Brace could help her get up. Fetch would help her to not bend down to pick up fallen items and avoid passing out again. All of these tasks can be accomplished by a service dog. Enter Atlas. He has already shown an ability to sense Jodie’s episodes, as well as, laying on her to compress. This without any training yet. He needs to learning how to properly react to Jodie’s episodes. Expenses at home are tight. Needing a new vehicle because the old died a gruesome death used up all remaining funds for Atlas’s training. It took a lot to go this route. Jodie is not the type to ask for help. Everyone that knows her knows she would be the first to offer help without asking for herself. Please help Jodie improve her quality of life with her only remaining option. Thank you.
