Help Athena's Friend Pay for Medical Care & Home Repairs!

My name is Athena Brownson and I am here today asking you to help me raise the funds necessary for our beloved friend, a true earth angel Kassia Phoy and her mother to make costly home repairs caused by severe water damage which left her parents home un-inhabitable followed by the sudden and unexpected loss of her father and hospitalization of her mother who is barely hanging on and needs our help with medical expenses!

Our beautiful friend Kassia has encountered one nightmare after another and it is time for our community to come together and provide relief during this devastating time

After filing a claim with their insurance, a contractor was hired to mitigate the water damage and make all needed repairs, and instead he proceeded to rip out all of their flooring and cabinetry and then disappeared and STOLE the $20,000 they paid him to remediate the mold that had quickly accumulated, and make all necessary repairs to make the home habitable. Not only did this sweet elderly couple get severe mold poisoning but they were completely unable to live in the home as they were both retired and unable to create an income to make these repairs after being robbed. They have worked for months with insurance and law enforcement to get this money back and have been completely failed by the system and need our help. Sadly they were forced to go live out of the country near family where her father just passed away with no warning as they believed he had gotten his health back. The loss of her father has been absolutely devastating leaving them with huge funeral costs and now her mother is on a ventilator in the hospital.

Today I come to you asking for any size of donation which will go entirely towards getting this amazing human and the much needed help she needs to cover the expenses of not only her father's funeral and mothers medical care, but to get their home back by properly mitigating the mold growth and making all necessary repairs from the water damage and providing a much needed safe haven and home for her mother. This is our time to come together as a community and take care of two of the kindest humans I have had the pleasure of knowing who have been left feeling helpless after such a horrific occurrence.
