Help Athena with medical bills
Hi, this is Ryan, Athena’s husband. As many of you know, We relocated to Florida from Minnesota 8 years ago so Athena could fulfill her dream of opening her own bakery. After graduating Summa cum Laude from Culinary School, she found her dream job with Smith House restaurant on Marco Island. As you can see from the picture, they are opening a bakery with her name on it. We just moved this month to Naples for us to be closer to her work. To be honest, these last 3 weeks have been horrible. Our kitchen started on fire 3 days after we moved in. Dealing with insurance and whether covered or not is a whole other story. I have been laid up with a medical issue, so work has been minimal. Athena has been working 40+ hours every week to ensure the restaurant ran smoothly. Last week, that changed. She was at work and became very sick. Drove herself to the ER and they admitted her immediately. She is having gall bladder removal surgery as I type this, but might have to be transported to Tampa for another surgery. Since she is the main “income” for the house, this has put a strain on us financially with medical bills, house bills, etc. She is too proud to ask for help. But honestly, anything helps at this moment. While she is in the hospital, she’s not getting paid. We are not ones to “beg”. We are kindly just asking for help.
