Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,

Writing this is incredibly hard for us. Athena is our two-year-old dog. She is truly our baby, our constant companion, our joy, and such a huge part of our family. Recently, she tore both of her ACLs, and the vet confirmed she needs TPLO surgery on both knees to walk comfortably again and avoid lifelong pain and arthritis. We were heartbroken to learn that our pet insurance denied coverage for these cruciate ligament events and excluded it from reimbursement. We never imagined being in this position, we thought we were prepared for any accidents by having pet insurance.

We have never asked for financial help before, and it feels extremely vulnerable to do so. But we truly have no idea how else to make this happen for her. Athena is so young, full of life, and deserves a pain-free, happy future running, playing, and being her goofy, loving self again.
