Help Athena, Victim of Animal Abuse

We have an update on poor Athena. Her stitches were not closing and the wound became infected. She just had an emergency second surgery to have the 100 stitches around her neck removed, re-sutured, cleaned and bandaged. We have updated our goal because of this. We're not giving up on this girl!
Athena's Story:
Athena is a very sweet female mutt who has suffered from atrocious abuse. She was chained up outside with a chain that was so heavy, it cut into her skin all the way to the bone. We couldn't leave Athena to suffer.
She is now safe with Family Dog Rescue. She had to have surgery to remove the collar, which resulted in over 100 stitches all the way around her neck. She is on pain meds and antibiotics and her wound needs to be cleaned several times a day.
Despite her horrific life and trauma, Athena is calm and loving. She has given her temporary foster mom so many kisses and has shown that she is totally forgiving of humans. It’s incredible considering the torture she has been through. She is a remarkable dog.
Help support Athena's surgery and medical care as her neck heals from the trauma by donating today!
