Help Athena Recover From Pneumonia

Hi ,my name is Wendy I'm Athena's grammie. After fighting a fever for many days (since April 7th) and a few trips to the hospital Athena was diagnosed with Scarlet Fever on Saturday, April 12th. The prescribed antibiotics helped for a bit but late Monday evening Athena spiked a fever, had abdominal pain and started having breathing issues so they headed back to the ER. After bloodwork, ultrasound and x-rays she was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and had to be put on oxygen. Wednesday morning Athena needed a chest tube put in to drain fluid from around her lungs. Doctors decided Friday the tube wasn't working and she may need a second tube to help with drainage. After more imaging and a CT scan they decided against the second tube and surgery is needed. Athena will most likely be in the hospital for a week or more to recover. I made this go fund me for Chad and Adele to help with a few bills and expenses as they are about to head into week three of alternating time off work for one of them to be with Athena. UPDATE: They had to put the second tube it Athena's chest, her lung was almost completely collapsed and her heart was pushed to the right side. When they put the tube in the fluid started pouring out which is good news.

UPDATE: Athena still has the chest tube in, the fluid has slowed down but still draining. Her spirits are good and she was so proud of herself yesterday, she got help out of bed and took a couple steps. Hopefully she keeps improving over the weekend and chest tube can be removed next week.
