To know her is to love her! Big beauty, Athena is our 2 year old reverse blue brindle Cane Corso w/ heterochromia (two different colored eyes).

Full of loving energy, drooly kisses and steak breath- she enjoys playing with her little brother Onyx and seeing the world with us! Athena steals the hearts of all who cross her path.

This week, we learned some devastating news-- Athena has glaucoma in her right eye with total vision loss which will require surgery.

Glaucoma is a painful eye disease which occurs when fluid cannot drain properly from the eye, causing increased intraocular pressure. Her pressure reading was almost 4x the optimal range.

We did quick and thorough research and with help from trusted friends found the best of the best animal opthalmologist in our area.

Athenas enucleation surgery (removal of the eye from the orbit) is scheduled for July 25.
